This is also the best time for wildlife-watching if that’s your reason for travel ling to South Africa. September, which heralds spring, is the best time to see vast expanses of riotous colour displayed by the myriads of wild flowers that put on their spectacular show in the Namaqualand year after year.

The Garden Route has to be one of the most beautiful and popular travel destinations in South Africa. The most stunning part stretches from Mossel Bay to the Storms River mouth in the Tsitsikamma National Park. Tourists are enchanted by the rugged scenery, and at the Storms River Mouth you can cross the river, using the suspension bridge.

Known as the pearl in the crown of the Eastern Cape, the Wild Coast is still regarded as an untouched paradise and is ideal for walking. You can explore the many caves and bays and actually see remnants of past shipwrecks along these wild and savage shores.

To travel South Africa means to see one of the many game reserves, and whether you are in a private reserve or a national park, make time to go on a professional game drive; this way you get to see so much more.
